I'm Ruri Flora Newman, and am currently a first year Computer Engineering with a Second Major in Business student, in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Rio Robot, my family’s enterprise, has been under my leadership as I’ve spearheaded complete pen-and-paper to digital conversions for Burmese business entities in Singapore and Myanmar. By instilling efficient digital workflows and conducting extensive employee training initiatives in both Singapore and Myanmar, I’ve significantly bolstered the success of our business clientele. Software Engineer & Operations Interns’ Project Manager @ Ministry of Manpower, Singapore
APR 2023 – MAY 2024 (Internship Contract)
Outsourced to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) for my internship as part of my final year in NYP, I was offered a 1 year internship and supported the iOSH application, providing ad-hoc assistance and guidance to various stakeholders like DevOps and Business Analysts to ensure uninterrupted system operation. I coordinated annual procedures including UAT, Pen Testing, Application Compatibility Testing, and negotiated budget quotations. Additionally, I devised a new workflow for stakeholders to manage scheduled system maintenance within the iOSH Team. As Operations Intern Project Manager, I supervise and aid team members with their tasks, taking responsibility for any challenges encountered during project execution.

• Developed various web, app, and full stack applications using various programming languages
• Exposure to both frontend and backend development throughout modules across the 3 years, applying them to projects done through the 6 semesters
• Awarded Director’s List Y1 S2 to Y3 S1
• Google’s Al Trailblazers Initiative aimed to propel forward AI technologies for government and industry applications. Collaborating with two lecturers, I participated in this initiative as a Developer, responsible for frontend implementation and integration with Google’s Large Language Model. On January 29th, I showcased our application at Google headquarters, presenting our GenAI-powered solution for curriculum development to industry leaders and AI enthusiasts. The project garnered significant recognition, earning the Transformation Award and receiving special acknowledgment from Minister Josephine Teo for its profound impact and innovative approach.
